The Human Calendar
The names of the months come from the names of the twelve noble houses.
There are no particular names for days, and there is no concept of weeks.
Times are generally referred to in terms of days from today, or the
beginning, middle, or end of the month.

- 1st of Chancery, New Year Festival
- The beginning of spring which is celebrated with a five day festival
in honor of life
- 15th of Lucidia, Luciday
- Thought to be the most beautiful day of the year, this is the day
for which most marriages are planned; because of this, most religions
attempt to provide someone who can perform marriages; this is also the
time for entering into apprenticeships
- 1st of Corsiva, Veetkay
- The beginning of summer which is celebrated with up to seven
days of visiting friends and distant family
- 15th of Arkan, MidSummer's Day
- Thought to be the day when the Fairy world and this one are
closest, it is also called the Day of the Twain; often celebrated
as festival for children combined with an open market
- 1st of Garamond, Lonzu
- The beginning of fall which is celebrated with up to five days
of rest at home and spent with the family
- 15th of Tristan, Tithing Day
- Essentially the day taxes are collected, it is also the only time
taxes are collected; it is also used by most religions to ask for a
larger than normal donation
- 1st of Kaer, Festival of the Dead
- The beginning of winter which is celebrated by a eleven day
feast and festival honoring the dead
- 15th of Umbra, MidWinter
- Thought to be the coldest day of the year, it is also presumed to be
the most unlucky day for travelling or even going outside; many children
are born on this day
- 28th of Andes, New Year's Eve
- A large celebration of the passing year, which culminates in a total
lunar eclipse at midnight, and leads immediatly into the celebration of spring
