And now, the funeral finally over, you're off to honor her memory with those same people. You've come to consider them your extended family. Then you passed out in front of the Widow Valencia's home, and woke in one of her spare bedrooms. Before the day was done she she'd talked you into being her steward. It was awkward at first, but she never let you give up, and you've come to like working with others. You were even considering getting into politics, but everything changed when "Grandma Valencia" passed on. It's not even been a year since you met her, yet she and the others she's "adopted" are closer than your real family ever was. If we're going to win, that someone had better be good at it. You want to be that someone. Someone like the colonel. He asked you to look after his wife before he died. He knew you weren't ready. You've spent a little over a year with "Grandmother Valencia." She showed you that it's not enough to know how to defeat the enemy. You have to take care of the people you're fighting for. She did. And you're proud to call the people she's helped family. There'll be a celebration of the harvest festival tonight, a chance for each of you to honor what the Valencias have done for you.

There's always someone who dislikes you. Something about you just upsets some people. At least you're not alone now. The Widow Valencia saw to that, just before she died. She helped almost everyone you've come to really trust. If it wasn't for your "cousins" you'd be alone all over again. Except for your sorcery. "Grandma" Valencia saw to that, too. It's good to know you can protect yourself, even if it does sort of make you stand out more when you do. You still like to go out in the woods and look at the stars. But now you go when you want to, not because somebody's after you. You're even a little excited to go celebrate with everybody to the harvest festival. Grandma would have liked that.

You've learned so much from each of them. And now, even though she's gone, a part of her is still here in each one of your "adopted" family. With the funeral over, it's time for a party. Grandmother always said she wanted a party when she died, and the harvest festival is the perfect time.
